2011 Globe Conference

Recorded at the 2011 GLOBE Calgary Conference to high school educators from around the world, this presentation explores the value of historical temperature records dating back to 1740s including Franklin's cross Atlantic ocean readings.  This cross-discipline project  encourages students to investigate, analyze, and appreciate historical data while exploring its role in analyzing today's climate.  The project was inspired by working with the Friends of Franklin, including a resulting video (Franklin's Climate Change) sponsored by GLOBE, ACRE (Australia), NOAA, NASA, Google UK, and the American Philosophical Society used in various schools.
